Dear D.J.T.: Yes. Sequins have not been sequestered. The most amazing application of sequins right now comes from Louis Vuitton, where, according to the company's program notes, "the smallest sequins ever produced are arranged by the thousand to create fluid metallic surfaces." So it turns out that what I thought was gold lam from my vantage point in the audience at the runway show was really those thousands of tiny sequins.
